SCORE projects include both field and laboratory-based efforts.

In July, 2013, SCORE received a supplemental award focused on elimination of S. mansoni, to complement efforts already underway on S. haematobium on Zanzibar. These additional resources will support research on snail control, as well as studies comparing different approaches to eliminating schistosomiasis in large geographic areas with transmission characteristics associated with S. mansoni infection.

To optimize the use of the SCORE data, especially the field studies on gaining and sustaining control of schistosomiasis and the studies that have been layered on them, SCORE is working with programmers and statisticians at UGA to integrate the data from the various study sites and conduct analyses of the combined data.
